Cannon's Couple Baby Shower Weekend in Granbury!!!

Yesterday we had a couple's shower for our little man and it went fabulous! We had about 50 people (give or take a few) attend our shower, all close family or friends, unfortunately some very important family members were not able to make due to bad weather conditions. Cannon's (Abby, Pop, Aunt Jen, Uncle Matt, Aunt Jana, Uncle Philip, and Cousins - Julia, Josh, Kamryn, and Mason) couldn't make due to the terrible weather conditions that happened in their area a day before the shower, we missed them so much but would much rather them be safe then travel in such bad weather! Of course, like anything else last minute circumstances came up for a few of our other close friends but they were there in spirit, even though we missed them terribly also!

All of the hostesses did such a great job and worked super hard to make it a very special day for the three of us! From the decor, food, cake, location, and guests - everything was perfect and much appreciated! We had a great time of fun and fellowship with amazing family and friends that are so excited for Cannon's arrival - he is so loved already! We received so many gifts that we are so thankful for! All of Cannon's big items -such as his custom bedding, rocking chair for his room, car seat & stroller, bouncer, & video/camera monitor - were all purchased as gifts, along with some much needed essential items - diapers and diaper gear, bath gear, clothes, boppy, bumbo, toys, bottles, paci's, books, dvd's, room decor and much, much more! As you can see by the pics posted we received so many cool and cute baby gear that we are still in the process of organizing and putting it all away! Unfortunately we forgot to start taking pics at the shower until after the food was mostly eaten, the gifts were opened, the guests were cleared out, and the decor was taken down - so I decided to take some pics of what I could after we got home, so I guess somethings better than nothing right?!?

The month of February is going to be a whirl wind for us - next weekend we are attending our birthing class at the hospital, the weekend after maternity pics, the weekend after girl's shower in Houston, and then the weekend after that I'll be 36 weeks so no more traveling and then just for more weeks to go until his scheduled debute! Now it's time to start putting everything together - 7 weeks is really not too much longer! I'll be sure to post pics of the progress of his nursery as we go along, I can't wait to see the final outcome - it's going to be adorable!

We had a really awesome weekend with family and friends, we miss everyone that left already! We are thankful for everyone that is in our lives and that will soon play a very important life in Cannon's life, he is already so lucky and loved! We appreciate everyone's kindness and generosity and feel very blessed to have you all as a part of our lives!

Love,

Kristen, Chandler, & Cannon

Time Flies By........55 More Days To Go Until We Get To Meet Our Son!

At 32 Weeks, He Still Has Lots More Growing To Do!!!

Well I know it's been awhile since my last blog but we have been crazy busy with work, preparing for baby Cannon and trying to remain as social as our schedules will permit between family, friends, and church! I can't believe how fast time has flown by with this pregnancy, it seems like just yesterday we were making our announcement to family and friends that we were 6 weeks pregnant and now we only have 7 weeks and 6 days to go (if I go the full 40 weeks)! I have to admit I've been pretty terrible about documenting my pregnancy, in terms of journaling and pictures, which means that I am going to have to put double the effort in his baby book to make up for it! I always swore that when I became pregnant that I would be the best at scrapbooking the entire pregnancy but I guess time just got away from me and before I even knew it I was a little over seven months pregnant and really behind!

Cannon's 4-D Sonogram at 30 Weeks!

So here is a little update for everyone since my last blog, a few weeks ago we had our fun 4-D Sonogram and unfortunately Cannon did not feel like cooperating very much on that one. We were only able to get a profile shot of him because he would not turn or remove his hand and wrist from his mouth no matter how hard or much we pestered him in the process, I am thinking he may have already inherited his mommy's stubborness! I have started seeing the doctor every two weeks now and from what she can see and observe, Cannon seems to be growing and developing as expected! He is still moving ALOT and I can now distinguish which body parts are jabbing me, his favorite place to hang out is head down and feet in my right ribs which tends to make for some uncomfortable moments throughout the day, especially when he decides to kick!

This coming weekend will be our Couple's Shower in Granbury and we are really looking forward to seeing lots of family and friends from both near and far. After the shower we will finish Cannon's nursery and it is going to be ADORABLE - his room theme is a rustic/hunting theme - his bedding is all custom made by the cutest boutique ever, we are having his room painted with a leather faux (1 wall) and khaki color (3 walls), custom painted wall camo letters, honey oak furniture, and a some other really cute accent decor. I am super excited to post pics of his room when it's all complete, because I have worked very hard on it and I have taken the time to hand pick single item and detail to make it a very special and cute nursery for my sweet baby boy. The next weekend we are going to be partaking in a child birthing class at the hospital where we will be having Cannon, I am really looking forward to that in hopes that it will answer and ease some of our questions and fears about the whole labor and delivery process. A few weeks after that I will be going to our second shower in Houston, which will just be girl's only and mainly family and friends from that area. After the shower in Houston we will have 4 weeks left to go which means no more traveling, I am hoping he will give his daddy the best birthday present of all time and make his debute 5 days before his due date (March 15th) but I guess we will just have to wait and see.........

We are truely blessed with so many great family and friends that are just as excited as we are about meeting Cannon - we are a very fortunate family to have such an amazing, helpful and supportive network of family and friends - we don't know what we do with out them all and can't wait to see them and introduce them to the new addition to our family!

New Year & Decade, New Goals!

I can not believe 2009 is over and 2010 is beginning - it's been crazy to reflect on everything that happened in 2009, much less a whole decade! I've been through so much, learned lots of new life lessons, seen & experienced lots of new things, and have had major life events occur - it hasn't all been good, but I am happy to say that of the things that haven't been stellar - I've survived and came out a better, stronger person because of them!

I am not only looking forward to a great 2010 but also a awesome new decade - God willing! Life really does fly by in a flash and before you know a whole decade has flown by right before your eyes! I don't necessarily favor the notion of New Year's Resolution just because I do not believe it should take a the turn of a new year or decade in order to want to change for the better, it's an everyday choice - not an annual choice! Everyday is a new day and everyday is chance to make the next day better - there is really no sense of setting pretentious goals for the sake of a new year and than when you mess up or things don't go as planned - to get discouraged or give up! I have so many things I would like do and change for the better about me and my life - so my goal for tomorrow and the next day and so on - is to make a daily choice of some form of change/act for the better (not even necessarily for or about me, just a positive change/act in my or someone else's life) and over time see if those small daily changes shape my overall goal of the bigger picture I am trying to achieve, which is ultimately when I leave my earthly life to enter my eternal life in Heaven! Happy 2010 and the start of a new decade! God Bless!

All About Moi!!!

Hi! My name is Kristen Chandler and I live in a cute but quaint little town outside of Fort Worth, TX. Placing myself in one particular title, role, or interest - definitely does NOT describe me - I am a woman of many titles, roles, & interest!

My soon to be MOST important role will be a mommy to a precious little boy, Cannon Todd Chandler, to tentatively debute on March 20th, 2010!

On any given day you can find me juggling the main interests of my life - working at our family business where I am a Health, Safety, & Environmental Consultant for the Oil & Gas & Construction industries; Website Designer & Slave to our company website; Focusing my Entrepreneur interests in real estate & healthcare; A crazy Wife to my loving husband - Brian, Domestic Goddess; Soon to be Mommy dearest; & on occasion a Desperate Housewife!

Although my life tends to be a little chaotic, busy & crazy most of the time - I wouldn't have it any other way! I live a charmed life centered around all of the things that matter most - a loving God, devoted Husband, great Families, fabulous Girlfriends, awesome Couple Friends, & a blessing of our soon to be Son! The only thing I'd change about my life today is to fast forward to March 20th so I can finally meet my baby boy - at this point I am seriously over being pregnant!
