God is great, Milk is good, My Poppa and Yaya are Crazy!

My Sweet Sleeping Boys!
It's been a fun week at the Chandler and Crain household this week. Cannon's Pop came to visit on Tues and Cannon's Auntie Kristi, Uncle Rick, and Cousins Braeden and Gracie came to visit on Weds. He loved talking, smiling, and laughing at them all - he could not figure out what was on his Pop's face (glasses) he would just stare perplexed at him and then out of nowhere laugh. He definately has stolen his Auntie Kristi's heart as she could not get enough kisses and lovin but luckly they only live in Corsicana so it's not TOO far.

On Wednesday I took CanMan to his Poppa and Yaya's house to spend the day as usual and I instructed my mom to make sure she put the Packers outfit on him after his bath. Of course she said ok but then said "I don't think Poppa is going to like this!" If you know my Dad you know that he is a die hard Chicago Bears fan and loves Brian Urlacher - so this is the result of what happens when you wear anything but Chicago Bears apparrel at Poppa and Yaya's house!

Poppa Starting Trouble With Daddy

#54 - Brian Urlacher's #

Change the Packers to the Bears with a little surgical tape and sharpie

This child is going to need therapy for the football confusion he is enduring at 4 months

When I showed up to the restaurant with Cannon, of course Chandler immediately ripped all the tape off and called his Poppa with threats of him being grounded from Poppa if he EVER pulled this stunt again! Gotta love the Poppa and Daddy sports rivalry, there's always some practical joke going around in this family the second you let your guard down then smack someone always gets ya!

So at school today CanMan dirtied his original outfit and all his back up outfits, so they had no choice but to put him in this outfit, I'd prefer they left him naked LOL!

My Sweet Angel!
My how time flies I can not believe my sweet little angel is 4 months old in about 1 hour! He has grown so much in the last month it's unbelievable and he has constantly developing and changing into his own little person day by day. Trying to hold his own bottle, eating cereal, mimmicking noises made by us (yells, screams, ah-goo's, mamama, ah-zzzzz's), blowing spit bubbles, drooling like crazy, flirting like the ladies man he is, melting hearts with his sweet little smiles, carrying on conversations while he pees, toots, and poops and never misses a beat while talking and taking care of business, recognizing familiar voices and faces, loves being outside and walks, still loves kisses, hugs, and cuddles more than ever, rolling over like a mad man, being a mommy's little inch worm, standing for long periods of time, kicking and shaking his arms when he sees a familiar face or a BOTTLE, loves watching T.V and when we read him books, loves listening to music, grasping and pulling on toys and mobiles, putting anything he gets a hold of in his mouth, loves looking at himself in the mirror (he definately knows how handsome he is he could stare, talk, and smile to himself for hours) and FINALLY he has slept threw the night AWWWW, well twice so far but hopefully it will begin to be a more regular occurence than not.

Some not so awesome things he has picked up on - throwing major fits when he is not being held when he wants or when he is hungry no matter where we are, pulling on hair and jewelry, pinching anything he can get his hands on BUT despite these not so awesome moments every second I spend with him is always amazing and filled with so much love, even when he decides to turn into CanMan #2 - LOL! I definately favor CanMan #1 more so than the other but I am positive that this little boy could do nothing that would ever change my love for him, with every passing day my heart only grows bigger with love for him.

After a little health scare this month, LONG STORY, after receiving the results and finding out what he had was serious but curable (bacterial infection & an UNDESCRIBABLE diaper rash) I realized just how blessed I was. From birth until that week I had never been so worried, scared, heartbroken, tired, stressed in all my life. Having to wait for a week for test results while my sweet baby was so miserable was an awful feeling as a mommy, there was absolutely nothing I could do to make him feel better - every dr. recommedation we followed, every dr. appointment we were there, every test we did - once we got the results back I was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. Eventhough I hated that he had an infection, the second I received the news I just remember praising God that it was not something worse and I have to take a moment to brag about what a tough little boy we have, he was so brave and tough through it all. There are so many mothers out there that are dealing with illnesses that I can not even fathom, dealing with losses that I am not so sure I would be strong enough to bear, receiving test results that are life shattering/altering - I can't imagine what these mothers go through on a daily basis and I hope I never have to. I am so thankful to God for the healthy baby I have today, as I know life can change in a matter of seconds. I know that I often take for granted the greatest gift that God gives me on a daily basis and that it is granting me the opportunity fall asleep each night and wake up every morning to the sweetest baby boy and wonderful husband in this world and that alone is something to Praise Him for each and everyday.

Happy Father's Day and 3 Month Old Birthday!!!

Proud and Sun Burnt Daddy!

Crazy Poppa!

Wearing His Special Father's Day Onesie
I hope all of you had a great Father's Day weekend, for us it was a really special 1st Father's Day; 1st Grandpa Day; 1st Great Grandpa Day! I feel so blessed to have such great parents and an awesome dad. My grandparents, sis, and bro in law came down for a fun filled weekend of lots of fun and laughs, lake time, relaxation, family time - topped off with Gram's homemade cherry/banana ice cream and my mom's fab italian creme cake. I was sad to see them go but I was so happy they were able to come down and visit even though it was way too short. Today we were all so worn out from the weekend that all we did was nap all afternoon, including CanMan he was so tired!

Fun Times On The Lake

Muah I Love This Lobster!
It's been awhile since I've updated everyone on Mr. Cannon, he is 13 weeks and 13 lbs now, growing like a weed and more fun with everyday that passes. He is still the best baby ever with a great disposition, he only gets fussy when he is hungry, dirty, wants to be held, or doesn't get what he want (he's very spoiled) and loves cuddling and kisses more than ever! He is definately fearless - he loves the water, riding in the boat, his Poppa flipping him upside down and in the air (I know, it's crazy but he loves it), he is a great traveler (a few weeks ago we went to Hobbs for a weekend visit, just him and I (5 Hours) and he did awesome)! He has definately found his voice and lets be heard regularly - talking, cooing, and sporadic screams are what has been filling the air in our home this last month and we love it!

3 Months and The BOSS Of Everything and Everybody!

Exhausted After A LONG but FUN Weekend!

Our lives have been pretty chaotic with summer beginning, being mommy and daddy, and work. I've been traveling alot lately for work, we are starting a new business and it's been pretty overwhelming but when it gets off the ground, I am hoping things will get a little less crazy. I often play devil's advocate with myself with thoughts of "should I stop working and be a stay at home mom?" versus the joy I have in working. I know most people may think that "joy" and "working" do not really belong in the same sentence but for me it does, I really don't think it's so much the working part that brings me joy, it's the thought that maybe in 20 years or so all of my hard work will pay off for my children and one day they will be able to come to work for one of the family businesses or just hopefully reflect on how all our hardwork with the businesses fulfilled all their childhood dreams and put them through college. I have always had an entrepreneural side of me that I've never been able to shut off, I love to see my business ideas manifest from something into nothing and I think that's been the main culprit for why I will probably never be a true "stay at home mom", although I would love spending even more time with Cannon, I know me well enought to know that as I was changing diapers throughout the day I'd be thinking of a new business idea and wanting to do something with it. So I am pretty sure being a "SAHM" is not in the cards for me, but I am really blessed to be able to have a career that is flexible that I will never miss a school event, sport event, ect. due to my job which is such an awesome thing to be able to do. I really just hope that if nothing else all this hardwork that we put into our careers while our kids are young helps us to be able to retire at an earlier age, like 35 - just kidding but is 40 fair - LOL! Who knows what really will happen in life, only God, so all you can really do is shoot for your dreams and have faith that it all works out in the best light possible.

All I know right now is that if every material possession got taken away from me tomorrow all I would need to survive and be truly happy is my relationships with God, family and friends and in the end that's really all that matters! I hope everyone has a great week and that your summers have been great so far!

XOXO,
Kristen

My Little 10 Week Old Fish!!!

My First Swimming Pool Experience At Poppa and YaYa's!

OK Mommy Don't Get Too Crazy, I Am Only 10 Weeks Old!!!

Leave It To My Dare Devil Poppa To Start Me Off Early!!!

A Little Unsure Of This REALLY BIG Bath Tub!!!

Awww Now I Am Feeling A Little More Relaxed!

I Am Going To Be A Great Swimmer Like My Uncle Cager!

I Love My Aunt MoJo and Uncle Cager and They Sure Love Me!

Well it's official our baby boy is going to be a water baby! Yesterday afternoon the kids were swimming and my Dad got the idea to see how Cannon would do if he dipped his feet in the water a little. Well the first dip startled him a bit and he let out a little fake cry and then the second dip nothing came out and he was just looking around and hanging out with his feet in the water and before we knew it he was all about the water!!! Never cried, just hung out and looked around - a little confused at how big his bath tub had grown and the slight temp change, but very relaxed and calm!!! I am so thankful for that because during the summers we are either at the pool or on the lake so we are all very excited about our sweet little fish!!!

XOXO,
Kristen

You Make Me Happy When Skys Are Gray!!!

Not A Care In The World!

Well this weekend was the weekend from Hades to say the LEAST! I walk in the door on Friday after a LONG week, to witness totally destruction!!! Our 10 year old lab went totally postal and ate through 5 sets (3 of which were custom made) plantation blinds, ate a plant, and damaged a pricey lamp - when I say ate through I mean the blinds had holes in them, some were broken in half, all were scratched - luckily we were able to just by replacement panels for the blinds instead of all new blinds, thankgoodness! If we would have had to buy all new blinds it would have cost us in the thousands AGAIN, thankfully it only cost us in the hundreds which still stinks - especially since we are selling our house and not taking those with us but I guess whats done is done! So basically that is what our weekend consisted of, fixing Banquets mess! I guess something finally snapped with her and she lost it - I really think it has do with the obvious - the lack of attention she is getting b/c of the baby! Don't get me wrong she still has been getting attention just not as much as she was used to. So now since she can't be trusted, we had to go get a big crate for her to stay in during the day, while we hated to do it - it's really our only option and we can't keep in the backyard b/c she tries to dig out! So we will see how this works out, fingers crossed that she adjusts ok!!! With all of the repairs going on we still got lots done - house cleaned, front and back patios cleaned, flower pots cleaned out - I don't why but something made me decide to start a few art projects (re-doing our patio furniture) - OK in all honesty I really want to buy all new fabulous furniture but there are so many unknowns for us right now as far as our house goes that I don't want to spend the $ until we sell and either buy or build, so I am taking it upon myself to spruce up the old for the time being (I'll take before and after pics, so you can see how it all turns out)! Also, I finished designing the photo walls for the formal dining room and breakfast nook, so now the shopping begins and I can't wait to see how this turns out - it has taken me forever to settle with a design, but I think it should be pretty cute and unique!

"Little House On The Prairie" Musical in Dallas with two of my favorite girls, our mother's day present to one fabulous mom!!!

Cannon is growing like a weed, last week was his 2 month appointment - he weighed 10 '8 and was 23 inches long! He got his two month shots and I hated every bit of it and the Dr. said he looked great and was growing as he should be! He is started to coo, yell, respond back with coos, he loves watching ceiling fans, and is smiling non stop, he still loves to be held and cuddle, loves his warm baths, is eating lots more, almost rolling over BUT one thing remains he still hates getting his diaper and clothes changed and he's still not sleeping through the night! This weekend we are going to Lubbock for our nephews graduation, it will be our first road trip since he's been born I am kind of nervous about that but we'll see how that all goes! He loves to go on car rides and usually just sleeps, so hopefully that's what he'll do but I am not placing any bets on it! We are so proud of our nephew and can't wait to watch him walk across the stage, we are also very excited to see our family and introduce Cannon to those who have not met him yet!!!

You Make Me Happy When Sky's Are Gray!

As stressful as this weekend is all it took was one sweet look at our little baby boy to make it all go away, it's pretty amazing how just one look at him can make all the bad parts of your day turn to good! He is such a blessing and we are so thankful for him! Please pray for my husband as he gets nose surgery on Wednesday, it's not expected to be too major and his recover should be fast but anything that requires going under makes me super nervous, so I would appreciate all your prays! I hope all of you guys had a great weekend, surely it was better than ours LOL! Sometimes God has a funny sense of humor!

XOXO,
KC

Meet Mommy Crazy: One week of craziness!!!

I Am Smiling More Than Ever Now!

This week has been super exhausting and crazy and I am so glad it's over, only now to start it all over again - it was my first week back at work, Cannon's first week at YaYa & Poppas & at Mother's Day Out, Mother's Day Weekend, and Child Dedication at church.

Sleeping So Hard, It's Exhausting Being Me!

I can't believe the lifestyle change that comes with mommyhood in general, but especially when you are a working mommy - I really got spoiled during my maternity leave in regards to being able to not have to get ready at any certain time or just not get ready at all (loved the pj days), being able to get some cat naps in during the week (although it did happen once or twice), being able to go work out morning or afternoon, making dr.'s appointments whenever, ect. BUT now during the week our day consists of getting up at 5:30 am for his last feeding, change him, dress him and put him in his swing and then I go get ready, we try to hit the door about 7:30 am, drop him off, go to work, leave work, get home feed him, change him, bath him, put him in a swing and then I go take a shower, dry and straighten my hair, iron both our clothes for the next day, wash bottles, pack diaper bag, and then try to get into bed by no later than 10, however it is usually more like 11 or 12 when I finally get into and then repeat until Thursday. It's definately a huge adjustment from only having to worry about yourself to worrying not so much about yourself but this tiny little boy that controls every single aspect of your life! I definately believe that Stay At Home Moms have the HARDEST jobs out of anyone including men out there, but being a working mom definatetly takes scheduling, organization, and multitasking to a whole new level, a level I could never comprehend.

Hanging Out Before I Go To My First Day Of School!

Mommy and Me On My First Day Of School!

Daddy and Me On My First Day Of School!

Cannon did really awesome at both Yaya and Poppa's house and at Mother's Day Out - it was super hard to leave him all week but as the week went on it got a little easier eventhough I still hated it! I really enjoyed getting back into the swing of things at work as crazy as it sounds but I was so happy when Thursday finally rolled around and I was able to spend all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with my sweet baby boy.

I look like God's Little Angel!

Proud Mommy!

Proud Daddy!

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6)

Today at church they had Child Dedications, Cannon was dedicated and we as parents promised to raise him as he grows to know Christ, so that one day he will come to us and accept him as his Lord and Savior and request to be baptized! Wow what a HUGE responsibility that is, but it is the greatest and most special responsibility we have as parents and I know God wouldn't have put him in our lives with out knowing we couldn't do it! We are really blessed to have an awesome family, church family and friends who will give us advice and help keep us accountable in this pledge we made as Cannon continues to grow. It was very special today to have our family and friends there in support of this special time. It's UNBELIEVEABLE that God would put so much faith in me, I have a hard time putting that kind of faith in myself but it's days like today that remind you of the special gift God has blessed you with and if your lucky enough loved ones to remind you that you are doing a great job. It also couldn't of happened on a more special day, Mother's Day! This is my first Mother's Day so it was super special and I've enjoyed it so much, after church we went over to Yaya and Poppa's and ate an awesome lunch, opened presents (Cannon and Chandler got me the sweetest card, flowers, and gift), and then just relaxed all day. This was such a wonderful day to spend with family, my hubby, and my sweet little man and I'll cherish it forever. I love you God for this sweet angel that you've given me and I love you, Cannon Todd Chandler!!!
